The St. Anthony and Area Boys’ and Girls’ Club recently received a $7,000 IGA grant for their project entitled “Seniors as Mentors”. The main focus of this project was to see seniors and youth involved in programming together with seniors acting as mentors to younger citizens.
Activities put off by the club included scrap booking, Halloween and Christmas projects, craft fairs, and community barbecues.
The Club plans to continue the project by using senior volunteers and current programs in leadership. They also plan to host further mentorships for those interested in the program.
