The Charles J. Andrew Youth (CJAY) Treatment Centre, located in Sheshatshiu, is a youth and family healing centre serving Innu, Inuit, and First Nations from the Atlantic Provinces and across Canada. Since opening its doors in 2000, the Centre has served over 350 youth and their families.

CJAY’s mission is to empower aboriginal youth and families by providing a holistic healing treatment program that strengthens and renews aboriginal culture, practices, beliefs, and values of respect, trust, sharing, acceptance, and cooperation. To further enable CJAY to achieve its mission, the IGA has granted funding this past year to build a cottage to accommodate people for a family treatment program.

The family treatment program provides a comfortable place for a family to stay in when they are not in programming. The home-like setting gives sometimes separated families the opportunity to reunite and bond together.
