At its recent Board meeting in the Labrador Straits, Ms. Agnes Pike retired from the IGA Board after 21 years of dedicated service.

Ms. Pike is a pioneer of community economic development in Southern Labrador. Since 1973, she has worked as a grassroots leader to benefit Labrador’s municipalities, community programs, and individual residents. Ms. Pike has served as a board member in regional and provincial organizations in health, education, municipal, regional development, and social sectors. Since 1977, she has been a municipal leader, and has been mayor of West St. Modeste for most of that time. Recognized as one of the province’s most dedicated volunteers, Ms. Pike received the Governor General’s and Queen’s Jubilee Award.

The IGA is honored and thankful to have had Agnes’ wisdom and dedication, as a valued member of its Board since 1996. Her input has benefitted countless people in the region served by the IGA.

We wish her well as she takes some much deserved family time in the near future!
