Pictured are Julia Lyall (L) and Jessica Keating (R) and Libra House’s brand new service vehicle!

The IGA has very recently funded a grant for Libra House which has enabled them to purchase a new vehicle!

Libra House, located in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, is a “shelter for women, with or without children, who are experiencing violence/abuse or are at risk. The services offered are in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental setting” –Libra House Website.

The purchase of a vehicle will allow Libra House to safely transport women to and from the shelter. Prior to this purchase, the shelter had to rely on outside services in town, and having to do so was not always favourable.

The IGA is very pleased to have been able to offer this support for Libra House, and congratulates those involved for the work they do every day!

The shelter will benefit immensely from this project as well as the women and children in need of their services.
