Dana Saunders made the move from Cook’s Harbour to Corner Brook to attend the Western Regional School of Nursing as a Bachelor of Nursing student. Her long-term plan is to graduate from her four year program, get workplace experience, and continue her education to include a specialization in obstetrics.

Dana regularly participates in recreational sports, using them to relieve stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle. She also enjoys volunteering, though she sometimes finds it difficult to fit in hours during academic semesters. Dana says that when she returns home each spring, she volunteers with the Red Cross Foundation. She has also volunteered with the Heart & Stroke Foundation and World Vision in the past.

Dana credits her father for her accomplishments, saying his ongoing support helped her set goals and learn how to budget. She also says that she will never settle for simple, and tries to enhance her education and life experience every day.
